Rooted in Tradition
As a native of Eridu, FL, my family has farmed this land for many years. Although that larger vision was lost some time ago, the dream never left my mind. While we don’t have as much land as we would prefer, I’ve decided we’ll work with what we have and make the most of it. Growing up, I still remember tending our vegetable gardens and caring for the fruit trees that supplied our household and helped feed many others. Depending on the season and my papa’s mood, we planted fields of corn or rows of watermelon. With my granny in the kitchen softly singing hymns, we’d spend hours canning vegetables, making jams and jellies. Family gatherings often meant long days of shelling beans and peas together. Though the family grew apart and became smaller over the years, we are committed to doing what we can to bring back some of those good times and the trusted, wholesome foods and products that only small American farm families can produce.
